  1. Q:  Did McLuhan have artistic genius?

  3. A:  Well he was a lousy wine taster. I don‚Äôt think his 
  4. taste in painting was all that great. I think he had 
  5. an extraordinary sense of poetry and language. He 
  6. had language like the best poet and the best 
  7. philosopher put together. And that was his art, I 
  8. think.
  9.  
  10. And I made the mistake of two or three times 
  11. bringing him a bottle. And finding that he would 
  12. taste it the same as the ordinary Canadian beer. 
  13. So I didn‚Äôt do it anymore. And in music‚Äîoh, you 
  14. know, I don‚Äôt think he had an exceptional music
